"I Run to You," performed by Lady Antebellum and produced by Victoria Shaw and Paul Worley, wins Single of the Year and the group wins Vocal Group of the Year at "The 43rd Annual CMA Awards," on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, live from the Sommet Center in Nashville on the ABC Television Network. Taylor Swift might have gotten the most ink, but she wasn’t the only act to win more than one trophy at Wednesday’s CMA Awards. So did double-winners Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum, and all three of those artists will be among the guests appearing on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown after chatting with host Nan Kelley backstage at the awards.
Lady A had a particularly good night. Their first Vocal Group of the Year win ended a six-year run in that category for Rascal Flatts. And when they picked up the Single of the Year honor for “I Run To You,” Lady A followed in the footsteps of such classic hits as Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee,” Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places,” Willie Nelson’s “Always On My Mind” and George Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

Blake Shelton photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Nashville.
Blake Shelton’s a good person, but he no longer feels the need to always be “Mr. Nice Guy.” He tells The Tennessean that one thing’s responsible for his “say-what-you-think” demeanor.
“The truth is I finally got all my (expletive) paid off,” he tells the paper. “Once you get everything paid off, it’s like, ‘(Who cares) if you all don’t like it.’ I’ve got something to say. I think what’s cool about it is, and has been in the last few months with Twitter, is really not being afraid anymore.”
If you haven’t read Blake’s tweets (follow him at @blakeshelton), you’re missing out. He posts daily and never fails to get a rise out of somebody — and usually, it’s someone from the animal rights organization, PETA. Blake’s longtime fans can almost hear him grinning with each barb he tosses at PETA.
Blake’s sarcastic sense of humor is on full display in his new duet with Trace Adkins, “Hillbilly Bone.” (Watch it below!) Continue Reading

November is National Runaway Prevention Month, and it’s particularly meaningful to Jason Michael Carroll, whose current single, “Hurry Home,” is a prodigal-daughter tale of unconditional love.
The video currently ranks No. 16 on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, and he tagged it with the logo of the National Runaway Switchboard and the toll free 1-800-RUNAWAY number.
If it sounds like Jason Michael means it when he sings it, he does. He had an aunt who left mysteriously when he was just 2 years old to escape an abusive marriage. Afraid she might be tracked down by her husband, she never contacted Jason Michael’s parents, but that didn’t stop the family from thinking of her.

In the country music world, Miranda Lambert’s leaving a trail of awards, album sales and hits. But boyfriend Blake Shelton tells Dial-Global that back in Oklahhoma – where they both have homes – she’s been leaving a trail of paint … and cocktails.
It seems that Miranda is always painting something at her farm and she often goes to the town’s lumberyard to get the paint. Blake shares that, while running errands one day after buying white paint, she stopped to get gas and the paint tipped over, spilling onto the parking lot. Continue Reading

Blake Shelton’s been hinting that his next single would be a duet, but until now fans didn’t know with whom he’d be sharing the mic. Now his record label, Warner Bros. Nashville, announced Blake is teaming up with his buddy, Trace Adkins, for the new song, “Hillbilly Bone.”
“When I first heard ‘Hillbilly Bone,’ I knew it was one of those songs that would kick the door down, and who better to kick the door down with me than my buddy Trace,” says Shelton. “It’s one of those songs you can’t get out of your head, and for Trace and I both, it was one of those songs that made sense since we are pretty much both ‘Hillbilly’ to the core.”
Blake gave his fan club members a gift this morning by making “Hillbilly Bone” available for them to preview for 24 hours via logging into their BSers Fan Club account. Starting tomorrow, Continue Reading
