Country Stars Who Were Engaged or Married in 2014

Tyler Hubbard and Hayley Stommel Engagement

We love weddings at Great American Country! As a new year begins, here’s a look back at some of the country stars who were engaged or married in 2014:

Jana Kramer celebrated her 31st birthday by saying “yes” to boyfriend Michael Caussin, a professional football player. Caussin gathered a group of Kramer’s family and friends to surprise Kramer with the marriage proposal.

Brantley Gilbert proposed to Amber Cochran, a schoolteacher from his hometown, in October. Gilbert calls Cochran “the one who got away” and admits that a number of his songs, including “More Than Miles” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” are about her. The couple plan to wed in June 2015.

Jerrod Niemann and his new wife, Morgan Petek, were married on Sunday, October 12 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ceremony was held at sunset in Castillo de San Cristobal, a historic Spanish fort that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Instead of wedding gifts, the couple asked that donations be made to Niemann’s nonprofit, Free the Music USA.

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard proposed to longtime girlfriend Hayley Stommel in September. The couple got engaged during a romantic helicopter ride. Hubbard posted a photo on Instagram of the couple celebrating with champagne aboard the chopper.

Over Thanksgiving, Miranda Lambert and her MuttNation Foundation opened a no-kill animal shelter called Redemption Ranch.

Florida Georgia Line released a comical new video for their latest single, “Sun Daze.” The video opens on the almost unrecognizable duo dressed as businessmen, plugging away at their office jobs. After a less-than-pleasant run in with their boss, the video cuts to the pair at a poolside party full of shenanigans — animal costumes included.

Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard cowrote “Sun Daze” along with Cary Barlowe, Jesse Frasure and Sarah Buxton. Their recently released sophomore album, Anything Goes, includes “Sun Daze” and “Dirt,” the first single off the album.

Kenny Chesney Performs at The Big Revival Tour

Kenny Chesney’s 2015 Big Revival Tour keeps getting bigger. He has added Jake Owen, Chase Rice, and Cole Swindell to the tour. The three acts will join him for select dates of the summer tour. While rice and Swindell are turning heads with their debut albums, Chesney is recognizing them for their songwriting abilities.

“When I came to town, I was a writer, trying to get my songs cut — and playing on a stool down on Lower Broadway,” he said. “I didn’t have nearly the success Cole and Chase are enjoying right now, but I know the difference getting your music in front of an audience makes. For both of these guys, who have a lot of energy and a real way of grabbing people, I think it’s the perfect way to get the audience fired up for the show.”

Jake Owen is no stranger to a Chesney tour. This will mark the third time Owen has hit the road with Chesney. Owen’s laid-back personality and fun songs like “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Days of Gold” fit right in with Chesney’s fan base. Continue Reading
