When the GACTV.com staff heard that the popular men’s magazine Maxim decided to put out a list of the “Hottest Women of Country Music,” I reluctantly stepped forward to do some research. It’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. So off I went to Maxim.com to review the list, presented in the form of a photo gallery. The list was comprised of a total of 19 women. The gallery appears to be in random order and not in any formal order or rank of “hotness.” No surprises for me, but I can tell you I think they left more than a couple of deserving ladies off the list… Continue Reading

The Country Music Association has announced the first group of presenters for The 43rd Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, and airing live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
The first celebrities announced as Awards presenters during “Country Music’s Biggest Night” are NASCAR superstar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.; stars of ABC’s “The Middle,” Neil Flynn and Patricia Heaton; Julianne Hough; nominee Randy Houser (for both New Artist and Music Video of the Year for “Boots On”); nominee Jake Owen (New Artist of the Year); Kellie Pickler; CMA Award winner LeAnn Rimes; and ABC News’s Robin Roberts, co-anchor of “Good Morning America” and host of the upcoming “Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Chuck Wicks’ performance during last week’s edition of “Dancing With The Stars” had him ending a Viennese waltz on one knee in front of dance partner and girlfriend Julianne Hough, and it sparked a new round of questions about whether the couple might get engaged.

For the first time in eight years, a woman is now the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year.
Carrie Underwood took the final honor of the evening during Sunday’s telecast of the “44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” from Las Vegas, ending Kenny Chesney’s four-year command of the prestigious category. Kenny was gracious in the process. He gave Carrie, who previously toured as his opening act, a kiss on the cheek on her way up to the podium to make her second acceptance speech of the night.
