Jack Ingram Goes “Barefoot” on “Top 20”

Jack Ingram is currently lodged among Billboard’s Top 10 country singles with “Barefoot And Crazy,” and he’ll pop in to chat with host Nan Kelley about it on this week’s edition of GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

The song appears on his new album, Big Dreams & High Hopes, which provided a backdrop for a huge push to set a new world record. Beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 25, the day it was released, Jack did 215 interviews in a 24-hour period, a mark authenticated by The Guinness Book Of World Records. “I don’t need to be seen as an intellectual,” Pat Green admitted, with a laugh. “I’m not trying to save the planet or the monkeys or whatever. I just like to make people feel good. I love that part of my job – and it destroys my soul any time I think I make anyone feel bad. That’s who I am, and I think it says a lot about the music I make.”

Having quietly become an outdoor-shed headliner in Texas, Green broke through on national radio in 2003 with his double-Grammy-nominated existential hit “Wave on Wave.” Since then, he’s balanced uneasily between the Texas songwriter that he was and the mainstream Country star he seems destined to be. Inauguration News: Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Sugarland

With Barack Obama’s inauguration less than a week away, Faith Hill, Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus are among the country stars who’ve been added to official Washington, D.C., lineups that celebrate the incoming president.

And while Lee Greenwood, a longtime friend of the Bush family, hasn’t been named to appear at any of the events, there’s strong evidence that his 25-year-old flag-waver “God Bless The U.S.A.” will get an urban renewal during at least one of the ceremonies. Continue Reading
