Phil Vassar Is Own Ringmaster

Phil Vassar’s next album is titled Traveling Circus, and it has him handling several roles. Not only does he provide the vocal acrobatics as the artist, he also wrote at least part of the material and he directed the whole project, serving as his own producer for the first time.

“I didn’t need anyone to help me do this one,” Phil told The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I didn’t have to worry about people looking over my shoulder and telling me what to do. It was very freeing and liberating.”

Tim McGraw, Charlie Daniels Lead Charity Efforts

From medical efforts to kids’ charities, country stars Tim McGraw, Charlie Daniels, Luke Bryan and John Rich are among the performers turning their music into fundraisers for important programs in the community.

Tim and Faith Hill are working on an event that should aid soldiers’ health, while Charlie has a Christmas concert on his schedule and Luke Bryan is planning a new farm outreach.

Rodney Atkins Relishes Mustard Seed Fundraiser

“It ain’t always pretty/But it’s real.”

That statement about small-town life from Rodney Atkins’ “These Are My People” hit home for Rodney, and he’s going back home to the town where he went to college — Cookeville, Tenn. — for These Are My People, This Is My Town, a charity event he hopes to replicate in years to come.

Rodney and Phil Vassar are set to play the Hooper Eblen Center Oct. 8, with proceeds benefiting Tennessee Tech University Athletics and the Mustard Seed Ranch, a faith-based children’s agency. Continue Reading

Several years ago, seeking a better insight into their customer base, Red Roof Inn assigned its public relations and marketing partner, Florida-based Hill & Knowlton/SAMCOR, to look into the subject.

The results of the investigation were clear. “The Red Roof Inn customer is ‘gray-collar,’ not quite white- or blue-collar,” said Jim Rink, President, Rink Entertainment. “They don’t need to spend a lot of money.
