The gallery appears to be in random order and not in any formal order or rank of “hotness.” No surprises for me, but I can tell you I think they left more than a couple of deserving ladies off the list… Continue Reading

It’s been 7 years since fans have heard new music from Shania Twain. And just over a year ago fans got the shocking news that her 14 year marriage to husband-producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange was ending. But today, Shania let her fans know that she’s doing okay and things are going pretty good. The news came by way of a very intimate letter and home video posted on her website shaniatwain.com. The release of the letter and video were part of surprise gift back to her fans on her birthday.
“Why I decided to share this personal side of my life with you at this point is to answer the questions I get asked so often lately: ‘how are you, where have you been and what have you been doing?’ Shania wrote in the letter. Continue Reading

Looks like Shania Twain is going to help fill the shoes left empty by Paula Abdul on American Idol. Well at least for a couple days anyway. People.com is reporting that Shania has committed to sit in as a celebrity guest judge during the auditions being held in Chicago on August 30 and 31. Other celebrities signed on to guest judge include R&B superstar Mary J. Blige, former Spice Girl Victoria “Posh” Beckham and pop star Katy Perry. Continue Reading

When Whitney Duncan left her hometown of Scotts Hill, Tenn., she took little with her other than a soulful voice, equal parts rawhide and honey, and a determination to seek her musical fortune. It took her a while to find it in the form of Mark Bright, who was so impressed with her that he shared the news with his friend John Shanks. Just like that, the two Music Row veterans were onboard to advise, write with and produce their discovery.
Duncan was just 18 at the time, though she had begun chasing her dream years before. After singing at her kindergarten graduation, she never looked back Continue Reading

For the first time in eight years, a woman is now the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year.
Carrie Underwood took the final honor of the evening during Sunday’s telecast of the “44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” from Las Vegas, ending Kenny Chesney’s four-year command of the prestigious category. Kenny was gracious in the process. He gave Carrie, who previously toured as his opening act, a kiss on the cheek on her way up to the podium to make her second acceptance speech of the night.
