ACM New Artist of the Year Nomiees to Perform at ACM Fan Jam

ACM New Artist of the Year nominees Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore and Kip Moore will perform via live remote at the 4th Annual ACM Fan Jam during the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Co-hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, the ACM Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, April 6 at 8/7c. The ACM Fan Jam, the fans-only, live concert event, will take place in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center during and after the broadcast.

Previously announced ACM Fan Jam performers include Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line. Headlined by Florida Georgia Line, the ACM Fan Jam will give country fans the ultimate pass to be a part of the ACM Awards. Fan voting is now open for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Award’s Entertainer of the Year award, which will be powered by Ram for the fifth year in a row, as well as the ACM New Artist of the Year award, which will be presented by Kohl’s. Country fans can cast their votes now at www.VoteACM.com and the winners will be announced live during the ACM Awards. Co-hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, the ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 6 at 8/7c on CBS.

ACM Announces New Artist of the Year Finalists

The Academy of Country Music and Kohl’s Department Stores announced today that Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore and Kip Moore have been named nominees for this year’s ACM New Artist of the Year Award Presented By Kohl’s. The winner will be named on the LIVE broadcast of the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, co-hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on CBS.

The final round of fan voting for the New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s begins on Monday, March 24 at 3 p.m. ET/12 noon PT and will close at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 6 (before the LIVE telecast begins) at www.VoteACM.com. The New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s final nominees were selected by a combined vote of the fans and professional members of the Academy of Country Music.  In selecting the winner, professional member votes will again be combined with fan votes to obtain the winner of the category.

Leading up to the show, fans can watch interviews and exclusive performances by the three nominees as they head to Las Vegas on Great American Country’s “ACM New Artist of the Year” special, premiering Monday, March 24 at 8 p.m. PT and re-airing multiple times until voting closes on April 6. Nominees Announced for 49th Annual ACM AwardsNominations were announced today for the 49th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music’s Party of the Year®, honoring country music’s superstars and hottest emerging talent. Hosted by four-time ACM Award winner Blake Shelton and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan, the ACM Awards are produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on CBS.

Nominees were revealed online via the third annual ACM digital press conference this morning. Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews, 2 Broke Girls star Beth Behrs, reigning ACM Songwriter of the Year Dallas Davidson, The Insider co-anchor Kevin Frazier, singer and Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale, CBS This Morning co-anchor Gayle King, Jerrod Niemann, Entertainment Tonight co-anchor Nancy O’Dell, Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson, Darius Rucker, The Talk hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler & Sheryl Underwood and surprise guest pop superstar Katy Perry, all announced nominations in video postings to the Academy’s Facebook and Twitter sites during the approximately 45 minute online event.

Fans will again help select the winner of both the Academy’s most prestigious honor, Entertainer of the Year, and the New Artist of the Year Presented By Kohl’s. As previously announced, Lee Brice, Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett and Parmalee are the semi-finalists for this year’s ACM New Artist of the Year.  These top eight (8) artists from the first round of ACM professional voting will compete via the Great American Country fan vote at GACtv.com, combined with the ACM professional membership vote, to determine the 3 nominees for the award. An additional combined fan and professional membership vote will determine the winner. The winners of Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year will be announced live during the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Miranda Lambert earned seven nominations, including her third nomination for Entertainer of the Year and eighthconsecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year. Additionally, Lambert was nominated for Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “Mama’s Broken Heart,” and twice for Vocal Event of the Year for both “We Were Us” with Keith Urban and “Boys ‘Round Here” as part of the Pistol Annies. Lambert is the reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year.

Tim McGraw received seven nominations, including Video of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care” featuring Taylor Swift & Keith Urban. He is also nominated twice for Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year awards as both the artist and producer.

Keith Urban received six nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Video of the Year. In the category for Vocal Event of the Year he is nominated for “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift, as well as nominated twice for “We Were Us” with Miranda Lambert as the artist and producer.

Lee Brice is nominated for five awards, including his first ever Male Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year nominations and fourth consecutive nod for Song of the Year. He is also nominated twice in the Single Record of the Year category as the artist and producer for “I Drive Your Truck.”

Kacey Musgraves earned five nominations, including her second consecutive nods for Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year. She is also nominated for Song of the Year and nominated twice in the Album of the Year category, as the artist and producer, for Same Trailer Different Park.

Blake Shelton is nominated for five awards, including his third consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year and fourth nod for Male Vocalist of the Year. Shelton also received a nomination for Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year.

Taylor Swift received five nominations, including her fifth consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year and seventh consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year. She also received a nomination for Single Record of the Year, Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban.

Reigning New Artist of the Year, Florida Georgia Line earned four nominations, including their second consecutive nod for Vocal Duo of the Year. They also earned nominations for Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year.

Lady Antebellum is nominated for four awards, including their sixth nod for Vocal Group of the Year. They are also nominated for Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for “Wagon Wheel” with Darius Rucker.

Luke Bryan received three nominations, including his second consecutive nomination for both Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. He also earned an Album of the Year nomination for Crash My Party.

Darius Rucker is nominated for three awards, including Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for “Wagon Wheel” featuring Lady Antebellum.

The Academy of Country Music’s professional membership selects the nominees and winners of the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, and selects the final top five nominees of the Entertainer of the Year category. New Artist of the Year final nominees will be selected by a combined vote of the fans and professional members.

Fan voting for Entertainer of the Year begins on Monday, March 24 at 3:00 PM ET/12noon PT at VoteACM.com and will close during the third hour of the LIVE broadcast. First round fan voting for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s is now open at www.VoteACM.com and www.GACTV.com/ACM and will close on Tuesday, February 4 at 3:00 PM ET/12noon PT.  The final three nominees will be announced in the coming weeks and will move on to compete in the final round of voting for the New Artist category at VoteACM.com. ACM Announces New Artist of the Year Semi-Finalists; Fan Voting Begins January 21

The Academy of Country Music and Great American Country announced today that for the sixth consecutive year, the newcomer category for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be voted on by the fans through VoteACM.com and GACTV.com/ACM, beginning Tuesday, January 21, 2014. 

The Academy of Country Music once again combined all newcomer categories into a single, overall category for New Artist of the Year. The New Artist of the Year award absorbs all newcomer categories including New Male Vocalist, New Female Vocalist, and New Vocal Duo or Group categories from past years, and the winner will be revealed on the LIVE telecast of the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The show is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on CBS.

The top eight (8) artists from the first round of ACM professional voting are considered semi-finalists and will compete via the Great American Country fan vote at GACTV.com, combined with the ACM professional membership vote, to determine the final 3 nominees for the award. The final 3 nominees will compete for the trophy, with a combined fan and professional membership vote to determine the winner.

NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR semi-finalists are:

First round fan voting for New Artist of the Year will begin at www.VoteACM.com and www.GACTV.com/ACM on Tuesday, Jan. 21at 12 Noon ET, and will close on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. ET.  The final three nominees will be announced in the coming weeks and will move on to compete in the final round of voting for the New Artist category at VoteACM.com. Final round fan voting begins on Monday, March 24 and will close on April 6, with the winner being announced live during the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on CBS on Sunday, April 6 at 8p ET/PT.

As part of this partnership, Great American Country will air several stand-alone specials; the first special, ACM Showcase, will feature all eight semi-finalists in the New Artist of the Year category. This special will premiere Monday, January 21 at 8 p.m. EST on Great American Country and will re-air through February 4 when voting closes. The second Great American Country special, ACM New Artist of the Year, will feature interviews and exclusive performances as the final 3 nominees for New Artist of the Year head to Las Vegas. That special premieres Monday, March 24 at 8 p.m. EST and airs through April 6.

The ACM is offering fans several ways to interact and participate in the events leading up to and through the ACM Awards. Co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, they air live on CBS at 8/7c on April 7. Here is how YOU can be a part of the ACM Awards:

Vote for Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year – Fans help choose the Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year by logging on to www.VoteACM.com or by text message using a number that will be announced during the live broadcast. Fans can vote once per day and can vote for New Artist of the Year through the start of the live broadcast and Entertainer of the Year into the third hour of the show.

Live Tweets During ACM Awards – For the second year, the ACM Awards will display live tweets from both artists and fans on-screen during special parts of the show. To be considered for inclusion, use the official ACM Awards hashtag #ACMs while watching the show.

As reigning ACM Top New Artist, Scotty McCreery knows exactly how Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer feel as they vie for this year’s ACM Top New Artist Award.
