Yesterday morning Taylor Swift went on The View to perform and talk about what everyone else was talking about — the Kanye West controversy. When asked if the rapper had personally contacted her to apologize for taking the mic away from her during her MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech, she said he had not.
Hours later, things changed. Taylor told People magazine that Kanye had finally called to apologize and that she accepted his apology.
It seems everyone was weighing in on the incident, even the President of the United States. Popeater.com reported that on Monday night, President Obama was overheard saying he thought Kanye acted like a “jacka**” at the awards show. He made the comment during an off-the-record moment in a CNBC interview, but ABC’s Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran posted this tweet: “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.” The Tweet was quickly deleted, but not before many of Moran’s followers had already re-tweeted it.
