Miranda Lambert recently did a photo shoot with OK! magazine at the Historic Carnton Plantation in Franklin, Tenn. and shared her thoughts on Blake, boots, body image and Beyoncé.
She told OK! the secret to her four-year relationship with Blake Shelton is “staying best friends, because you can’t always be romantic.”
As for what she wears to impress her beau, Miranda names a jean skirt and cowboy boots as the way to his heart. She’s also candid about her body and the pressure to be thin in the entertainment world.
“I have fans that come up to me and say, ‘Thanks for being normal,’ she says. “I’m a size 6 to 8, and I’m totally fine with that. Beyoncé is an inspiration to me — she has a booty and is proud of it.”
However, most women — no matter what size – like to feel, shall we say … secure in clothes. Miranda’s no exception. She says the undergarment brand Spanx is her style secret.
“That’s every girl’s secret, but most don’t talk about it,” she says with a laugh. “You don’t have to think about sucking it in — they do the work for you.”
Miranda’s music is working for her these days. She’s up for Top Female Vocalist at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards.
