Luke Bryan recently stopped by the GAC studio to chat with Suzanne Alexander about the new record. On it, fans will hear a cover of the One Republic song, “Apologize.”

“I had been listening to the One Republic version of ‘Apologize,’” Luke told Suzanne. “Somebody in the band had to run offstage and so I just did an acoustic version of it. At the end of it, people just kept singing the chorus. That kind of morphed into the band learning it and then it really became a cool spot in our show.”

Luke says the fans made him wonder if he should record it. “On all the blogs, there was a big outcry:  ‘You’ve gotta record this song!’”

But in the end, it was Luke’s buddy, Blake Shelton, who convinced him to put “Apologize” on Doin’ My Thing.  Click here to watch the rest of the interview to find out what Blake said! (Click on the third tab with the video titled “Luke Bryan Apologizes.”)
