Looks like the sophomore slump won’t be a problem for Lady Antebellum. “Need You Now,” the title cut and first single off their upcoming CD, is already the fastest-rising single of their career thus far. It’s currently a Top 10 Billboard hit.

So what exactly can fans expect from Need You Now, to be released Jan. 26, 2010?

“This song, and what we’ve finished of the new album so far, is all about passion,” says guitarist/vocalist Dave Haywood.  “There’s a real sense of urgency and fire, almost like a spark has reignited us creatively in the studio…so when we started talking about album titles, ‘Need You Now’ felt like it summarized our vibe right now perfectly.”

Lady A’s self-titled debut CD is already platinum in the U.S. and gold in Canada. Additionally, 18 months after its release, it has never slipped from the Top 10 on the iTunes country chart.

“This is just beyond anything we ever could have imagined when we sat down to write our first song together in 2006,” said an overwhelmed Hillary Scott after hearing about their platinum status.  “I wish we could thank every one of the fans personally — that would be the coolest thing in the world for us.   Everybody always says they have the best fans in the world, but ‘everybody‘ hasn’t met Lady A’s fans. They are truly the best!”

Lady A is the CMA’s reigning New Artist of the Year. This year at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards, they’re nominated for Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year for “I Run To You.”
