Trace Adkins will be on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. ET helping to rebuild the home of a police officer who was shot on duty.
Trace went to Lancaster, Texas to meet Carlton Marshall, who lost most of his mobility and all of his hearing after being shot while leading a Dallas Police Department SWAT team. During the show, Carlton and his wife, Susan, a homicide detective, learn that their home will be rebuilt in seven days, solving structural and accessibility issues. The new home enables the Marshalls to continue their longtime volunteer work with horseback riding therapy for children and adults with mental and physical challenges.
“I’ve worked with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition three times now and I personally feel that they’re doing God’s work,” says Trace. ”It’s such a noble thing that those folks do and anytime I get a chance to be a part of it and help out in some way, I’m always eager to do it. This experience was very emotional because all of his fellow police officers were there and the emotion on those tough guys’ faces – it was heavy. It was a beautiful moment.”

She tells me she has to sell the house cause she got herself in a spot but that night she goes out on the town with boyfriend soon to be hubby I look over her papers in her files and there they were She had been Borrowing on the House each time we took the value worth up!~ Kick myself in the Butt!` So the next day I say to her ok So I have reciepts and all for 62,000.00 on everything we put on this house she says Don't worry… its selling for 350,000.00 Sure it was but she never thought they had to minus all she borroed against the house then she wan't to buy her New Mobile Home Free and Clear and Pay for all her furniture free and clear and get Married go on their Honeymoon and by the time she send us our Check it was 3000.00 Un Real Hun?? To do this to you disabled Daughter?? Needless to say I have not talked to her for 6 yr it took us 5 to get our finances back together!!!! So Anyone got a decent Cheep House In Chula Vista Ca…… Or around there…. This girl still looking just has to be Real Cheep Like Bank Repo Remeber I am State disabled!~
We jumped at our chance to move then and there although it was a little earlier than planned for we had planned to move when my hubby retired from the shipyard But instead we took the offer and my hubby took all the jobs offered in San Diego….For Five years we were in that house Downstairs Mom upstairs we took all the bills even from her so she had nothing to pay and told her just allow us these payments till we can work it out so her name and our name was on the bank for payments and we put all my hubbys overtime including his Early out moneys to fix up the place then my sis tells me after mom gets this new boyfriend who was straight out of jail…. no job nothing to call his own moves in with my mom and she gets him back on his feet but then she tells my sister shes selling the house…. My sis calls us on one of our trips up here seeing family… I hurried back down to see what was going on… Now mind you since my Dad died Mom has taked drinking to almost every night thing anymore so
Wow Now Why in the World Can't I find an Angel out there like that! Let me share a story here for a sec…. Back in 1995 I had a work accident where I lifted a Box and a disc went into my Spinal column… the only problem was I worked for the Government and Believe you me… I fought 10 yrs after two back surgeries a metal rod in my back two screws and a disease called RSD so a pain pump was included 2002', I still suffer each Winter month Here in Wa State. I had a Doctor tell me rt after my second surgery that I needed to move to Calif. and my Mom was here that yr helping me so she made my hubby and I an offer we could not refuse, she offered us the family home for what she owed on it Everything she borrowed on it up to that point rt then
I truly know that Trace is a wonderful man. I really enjoyed watching him on "The Aprentice", and thought that he should have won. I enjoy his singing and I will be sure to watch him on "Extreme Makeover". I love that show.
Trace is a man who helps others. I imagine many of his good deeds and charity work go unannounced, because he does it for himself. He gives of himself like many country artist do. I think they do it to pay it forward, They are blessed with their talent so many of them give back to other people. Not for the recognition. They give of themselves because their able to. I wish all of us could be as stand up as Trace.
Trace Adkins shows once again that he is not only talented and good looking but also cares very much about others. Look forward to watching.
