Miranda Lambert started working on her third album late last year. Now she’s seeing the payoff for her efforts as Revolution debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, kicking off the fourth quarter of 2009 in high gear.
“I’m so excited,” Miranda says. “I know everyone says they are proud of the album they make, but I feel this one is so special I can hand it to my idols, hold my head up and say ‘Here, this is all of me. I hope you like it.’”
Revolution sold 65,875 copies in its first week on the market, ensuring that each of her first three albums has debuted at the top of the chart. Her previous album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, won the Academy of Country Music’s Album of the Year award last year, and she’s currently nominated for the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year.
Come Jan. 7, Miranda will kick off a run of dates as part of Brad Paisley’s American Saturday Night Tour.
Her videos are highlighted Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on the GAC presentation The Collection: Miranda Lambert.
