When Chris Young released his current single, “Gettin’ You Home,” he subtitled it “The Black Dress Song,” owing to the signature line about a woman shedding her garment after a night of fine dining.
Thanks to that song, Chris has begun to encounter other kinds of women’s apparel on the road. Beginning with a show in Iowa, female fans started throwing their bras on stage during his concerts in response to the song’s sexual message.
“You hear that kind of thing happens, and right when it started to pick up, I got four bras on stage in one night,” Chris told The Maryville Daily Times of Tennessee. “I was just laughing hysterically.”
Chris has good reason to be in an upbeat mood these days. “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)” is at No. 6 on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, and it’s slotted at No. 2 on the USA Today Mediabase Country Singles chart.
“This is something I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid,” Chris said. The chart action “blows my mind.”
As do the brassieres.
