The Associated Press reports that Little Big Town‘s Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild are expecting their first child. They made the announcement just before performing at the “All for the Hall” Country Music Hall of Fame fundraiser concert Tuesday night.
The AP says when LBT was asked if the group had anything new to talk about, Kimberly Schlapman pointed at Karen’s belly and said, “I have something really new.”
“We’re birthing two things right now,” Karen said.
“A record and a new baby,” Jimi revealed.
Karen and Jimi have been married since 2006 and are due in March 2010, but there’s no word on when the album is due.
In other band news, LBT is working on a documentary and is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Association awards on Nov. 11.
“We like it challenging,” Phillip said.
