Toby Keith’s quirky “American Ride” video is one of the most-talked-about music pieces on TV, and Toby drops in this weekend to talk about the piece with host Nan Kelley on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

Paced by the title track, which peaked at No. 1 on the singles chart, his American Ride album debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart this week.

That achievement comes at a time when Toby is enjoying some new sorts of attention. On Sunday, he’ll claim the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Songwriter/Artist of the Decade honor in Music City. In November, he kicks off his first European tour, and in December, he’ll perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Norway. Irony of ironies: President Obama, this year’s Nobel recipient, is one of numerous public figures lampooned in Toby’s “American Ride” video, currently ranked at No. 7 on the countdown.
