You’ve probably heard by now, Taylor Swift is set to pull double duty as both the host and musical guest this weekend on NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL).  Taylor joins a short list of superstars including Sting, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake that have filled both shoes on the show.  The last time a female country artist was tapped to both host and perform was Dolly Parton, 20 years ago.

Last Monday night, Taylor made a special guest appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and got some great advice from the SNL vet.

“Be nice to the writers…bring them sandwiches, pizzas and stuff, whatever you can do to put the writers on your side,” advised Jimmy.   He went on to reassure Taylor that she is going to do just fine.  “It’s a dream for people to do it, when it’s over you just want to do it again, it’s that exciting. You’re gonna do great!”

Tune in to SNL this Saturday on NBC at 11:30 EST to catch the full show.   Watch Taylor’s full interview with Jimmy Fallon here:

  1. Isn't it refreshing that in a world filled with petty, nasty people, there are still sparkling gems like Taylor Swift who are so wholesome, positive, and fun! Alot of reviewers are calling this SNL the best of the season. Seems like everything she touches becomes golden.

  2. Okay, you gotta admit that monologue song a.k.a LA-LA-LA was really adorable, wouldn’t be any better if Taylor swift is not the one who sang that song!
as for the anti-fans who say its booring… I say, “are you kidding me? You should open your eye balls a little bit and turn-on your sense of humor even once”

  8. Actually-wouldn't Garth Brooks have been the last country artist to do double duty? He hosted the show as Garth, then was also musical guest as Chris Gaines. That was1999.
