There are five Southern voices in the home of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and it looks like that’s the limit. Tim, who occupies the cover of the newest edition of People magazine, originally had more kids in mind, but with three girls already in the family, there’s not much thought of expansion.
“We talked about it once,” he says in the story. “We even have names for boys. I would love to have a boy also, but if we start again now, we’re going to be old when they’re gone. We started out wanting five [kids], and life just…got busy.”
Busy indeed. Tim and Faith have kept their music careers intact, and Tim is currently active as an actor as well. His Southern Voice album came out last month; his next film, The Blind Side, arrives Nov. 20; and his next tour, featuring opening acts Lady Antebellum and the Lost Trailers, begins Feb. 11 in Omaha.
He’s living well, and he says Faith is a big reason why.
“Faith saved my life in a lot of ways — from myself more than anything,” he notes. “I can go down a dark road sometimes, when you’re not feeling good about yourself, and she pulls me out. My wife makes me a better man.”
The new edition of People appears on newsstands Friday.
Look for Tim to perform in Wednesday’s telecast of the 43rd annual Country Music Association Awards. Among the other acts slated: George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

To each – his/her own. Only they know what they want and what is best for the entire family. Whatever the future holds for them will be for the good of all of them is my hope. They are my favorite of ALL country music couples EVER . I feel their love for each other is genuine and pure. The greatest attribute is that they never sacrifice their girls for themselves. Keep on lovin' and singin'.
Loved the article. Tim seems to be opening up about himself a little more. I think he is such a great person, thank you Faith. I love that they are so family oriented. Of course I really love their music. I cant listen to my Southern Voice cd enough and I am looking forward to Faith releasing an album next year.
I really wish they would reconsider and have two more children! One of them is bound to be a boy and it would be great to have a little Tim McGraw in the Future! I Love Tim and Faith and whatever they choose to do is their Business!! I'm a Loyal Fan!!! Best Wishes To Tim and Faith and their three Beautiful Daughters!!!!
it is funny that after so many years he just happens to mention it like this. because back on Ellen before they started their last tour she asked him if there were going to be anymore just to try to have a boy just to even things up she said and he said no,I am getting too old for that. now wouldnt it be something if it happens after this message came about. hmmmm, i do remember how much they both wanted at least 5 kids. but they have been busy. they are fine with 3 girls. he says in the magazine how Audrey is Faith all over. that would be cool if they had a boy that would be so cute to see a little boy looking just like him. they have a great family and it just was not meant for them to have a boy. I love them too,I think the world of them. I always wish them the best in life.
I just love them too . . . enjoy their music, their stories and they always bring laughter and other emotions to us beause they are down to earth and aren't afraid to expose their blemishes when they exist. In that category it's definitely easy for us to relate . . .
I just love Tim and Faith! They are Country Superstar Couple who's so down to earth. They are great artists, performers, singers, MOM and DAD!
That is their business if they want to expand thier family. As long as they are all happy and healthy that is all that matters.
