The final 2009 edition of GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown premieres on Friday, and host Nan Kelley will hit the rewind button to play back some of the show’s best moments from the last 12 months, including interviews with Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum.

For all of those artists, it’s been an incredible year, and that’s particularly true for Keith who calls 2009 “pure magic.” He won several awards, earned three hits off his album Defying Gravity and hit the road with a world tour that ends this weekend in Australia. That leaves him in a perfect location as he and wife Nicole Kidman spend the holidays with their families and with daughter Sunday Rose, who’s 17 months old.

“It’s a great phase for her,” Keith says. She’s “really sort of coming alive and communicative. Kix Brooks said, ‘Is she in the raccoon phase?’ I said, ‘What’s that?’ he said, ‘You know, just pulling every drawer, pulling everything out.’ ‘Yeah, she’s in the raccoon phase.’”

Others who’ll be featured in Top 20 flashback segments include Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
