Sara Evans recently called us from her Los Angeles hotel room (she was in L.A. with husband Jay Barker, attending the 2010 Citi BCS National Championship Game) to talk about her new book, The Sweet By And By, and what else is in store for her this year.

Sara wrote The Sweet By And By with noted Christian author Rachel Hauck. She decided to take the writing plunge after being approached by the Thomas Nelson book publishing company. The romance novel is a love story with a spiritual thread that covers some tough topics: divorce, teen pregnancy, abortion and crippling panic attacks, to name a few. Sara tells GAC she herself has suffered from panic attacks. She wanted the book’s main character, Jade, to battle them too, to raise awareness of the condition.
