Trace Adkins Band Bus Involved in Fatal Crash

Earlier today in Caddo Parrish, Louisiana , a pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the tour bus carrying the band of country music singer Trace Adkins. Both men in the truck were killed upon impact. None of Adkins’ band received serious injuries, however, five were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries and observation.

Adkins, who was not on the bus, had already arrived at the venue when he heard the news. He went to the scene in a van where he picked up the uninjured band members, then went to the hospital to check on the others.

“This is a real tragedy,” says Adkins. “Two people have been killed and I don’t even know their names. So out of respect for their families, I prefer not to comment too much at this time.”

Here is a news report from KSLA in Lousiana:

Adkins, who is a native of Sarepta , Louisiana is still planning to perform a scaled-down acoustic set at tonight’s show with Martina McBride at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana. He will not perform at tomorrow night’s concert (2/14)  in Pensacola, Florida , however  Martina McBride and Sarah Buxton will go on as scheduled.

  6. Jeffrey Ferguson the passenger in the truck is my cousin-in-law. Thank you for all your prayers, both families need it. Jeffrey was married and left behind 3 small kids. It has been an extreme devastation in the family. I don't not know what else to say or or do.. But I am planning on having a benefit for the family to help out a little….

Thank you Trace for honoring them at your concert. That was greatly appreciated…
    God Bless everyone…….

    • Lorraine, I am so sorry for the loss of Jeffrey. It was a life taken too too soon. My condolences to his wife, children and the rest of his family. I know Trace is taking this loss tremendously because he also lost his youngest brother to a tragic auto accident many years ago. I am sure this has opened up his wound seeing this happen to another young man. Once again, I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray God help the families in their hour of need.

    • Kimberli, please express my condolences to the families of your friends that perished. Though I am on the other side of the country, I feel for the mothers of these two young men. I have also lost a child and know firsthand the agony they are going through. I am so sure Trace feels for their families because he lost his youngest brother who was the same age (21 years old) to a tragic auto accident. As a fan of his, I know his heart is aching for this loss. Once again, please offer your friends family my deepest sympathies.

  24. Trace, I was at your show tonight and all I can say is that you are a man of integrity and class. Your concern for those men who lost their lives and their loved ones, as well as your obvious care for your band members is inspirational and you set the standard for how to deal with this kind of tragedy. You are in my prayers every day and I am thankful you weren't on the bus and are physically ok. It was clear that this has been a devastating day for you and I pray that you be surrounded by people who love you and will support you through this. My prayers will continue and also go out to your band members.

  26. May God be with the family members of the two men that perished in this tragic accident. Thank the Lord that Trace is okay and that his band members weren't seriously injured. Trace is one class act because he showed respect to the two men's family by not commenting. God please watch over everyone traveling, especially in these harsh winter conditions going on throughout that region.
