Martina McBride’s Shine All Night Tour is in full swing for another two months, but she and tour mate Sarah Buxton take time to chat this weekend with host Nan Kelley on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

The Shine All Night Tour takes its name from Martina’s latest album, Shine, which has thus far launched three singles and a Grammy nomination. Sarah’s self-titled debut album comes out Tuesday, and she’ll be celebrating with a CD release party at a Nashville venue called The Rutledge. That celebration will no doubt include performances of two of the album’s key tracks: the bouncy “Outside My Window” and “Stupid Boy,” the Keith Urban hit Sarah wrote.

Trace Adkins — who will not be joining Nan, Martina and Sarah on Top 20 — is the lone male voice on the Shine All Night Tour, and he’s close to finished with his next album, which will be released on Toby Keith’s label, Show Dog-Universal Music. In the meantime, Trace has nothing but good things to say about being on the road with Martina.

“She’s a freak of nature,” he told The Detroit Free Press. “It really is unbelievable. Here’s this little 100-pound woman who can sing louder than I do. And Martina is supermom out on the road. So me and my crusty old boys just try not to offend anybody.”

Top 20 Country Countdown counts down the week’s top country videos from No. 20 to No. 1 as voted by viewers on each week on GACtv.com. 1. Glad Carrie still holds the #1 & #2 spots. She deserves them both. "Cowboy Casanova" & "Temporary Home" are both great country songs, and both are on each side of the country music spectrum. Glad she's really expanding her boundaries with her song selection, writing, and singing.

    • That's what Kellie needs to do. Non of this contemporary country stuff that Carrie, Taylor, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban etc are doing. She needs to do classic country. I think she heard that advice from Jamey Johnson too. Her voice is great at a lower to medium range, she can sing with great emotion but her higher range gets weak and tinny. When she did 9 to 5 on the Opry, I swear it fitted her voice perfectly.

  3. muspirit, you are a little more country than sarah and martina but you think carrie is country, give me a break. carrie belongs more on mtv than on gac.

    • bkb, I love all kinds of country and certain voices sound better with certain areas of country music. There's bluegrass, Southern Rock, California Country, Contemporary Country, Cajun Country, Tex Mex Country etc and Hillbilly country or Redneck Country.
Carrie has a perfect powerful voice that sings contemporary country best. but when she wants, she can sing classic country ballads with the best. Randy Travis would love her to do more of those. Ever watch her sing "Stand By Your Man" on the Opry? Close your eyes and you can almost imagine it's Tammy Wynette.

    • Carrie belongs on MTV more than GAC? hahahahahahah That's funny.__Carrie is country. She's just a different kind of country. I'm sorry, but "Temporary Home" comes straight from her country roots. It's a song with a clear message, and the vocal is incredible.
