Gary Allan has been named country’s hottest bachelor by Country Weekly magazine, and he’s soon to be a part of one country’s hottest summer tours.
Gary’s set to take over one of the opening-act slots on Brooks & Dunn’s Last Rodeo Tour on June 18, once Jason Aldean completes his part of the tour. The association is a reunion of sorts. Gary took part in the duo’s 2002 Neon Circus & Wild West Show, a concert package that also featured Dwight Yoakam, Trick Pony and Chris Cagle.
“Great guys, always a great party,” Gary says. “I’ve learned so much from them, from not only show stuff, but how to treat people that you’re touring with. I know a lot of acts, when you tour with them, there’s a ton of rules. You can’t walk down on this ramp and you can’t step on this speaker and you can’t look at this light or whatever their story is. With Brooks & Dunn, it was always just you get out there, rock and have a good time. And usually they’re with you. I saw those guys more than I’ve ever seen anybody on a tour.”
Gary’s first appearance on the Last Rodeo comes June 18 in Virginia Beach. Tyler Dickerson, who’s already on the road with Brooks & Dunn, will still be part of the bill.
Because of their participation in the tour, both Gary and Tyler are likely to take part when Brooks & Dunn deliver their very last show Aug. 10 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Guests for that concert, which will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, have not yet been announced.
Watch GAC this weekend for The Collection: Gary Allan at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday.
