
The front of the Grand Ole Opry House is under several feet of water as a result of the flooding Cumberland River caused by storms in Nashville, TN on May 1-2, 2010.
Thanks to all the wonderful fans who have inquired about ways to help victims of the Nashville flood. We’ve compiled a list of several organizations that can use everything from donations to household items to man power. We appreciate everyone coming together to help those in need!
• Text ’REDCROSS’ to 90999 to donate $10 to disaster relief — or visit redcross.org to donate.
• Check out the Nashvillest blog, with a section called “So Nashville Is Flooded…How Can I Help?”
• Hands on Nashville has a number of volunteer efforts going on in Nashville and Williamson County. Please visit their website for more information.
• The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is working directly with Mayor Dean and Governor Bredesen on city and state emergency response efforts.
• If you’re in or near Nashville, The American Red Cross is operating a number of shelters around the area and will be in need of volunteers this weekend to help distribute items. More information here.
• Soles4Souls: Soles4Souls has generously donated 20,000 pair of shoes and boots to families and workers in need. They’re going to need help distributing these shoes, so call Isabelle at 615-392-5723 to volunteer in the coming days if you’re in the Nashville area. And as always, they could use your monetary donations if you feel so inclined. Donate here.

GAC will air a benefit concert this Sunday, May 16 called GAC’s Music City Keep On Playin’ — A Benefit For Flood Relief. Airing from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium at 8 p.m. ET, the fundraiser features Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler, Americana artist Will Hoge, gospel singer CeCe Winans and contemporary Christian performer Jaci Velasquez.
