If you were listening to your favorite radio station yesterday, you might have heard a new song, “Country Strong,” by an unknown singer named Kelly Canter. Who is Kelly? None other than Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, star of the upcoming movie, Country Strong, also starring Tim McGraw.
In the movie, Gwyneth’s ”Kelly” is a just-out-of-rehab country singer trying to re-start her career. Tim plays Gwyneth’s manager/husband. The song “Country Strong” features harmony vocals by Vince Gill and Patty Griffin and is the first single from the original motion picture soundtrack to Country Strong, set for release October 26 on RCA Nashville. You can see the movie in theatres beginning Dec. 22. RCA has already set up an official website for the fictional Kelly, plus MySpace and Facebook pages.

I doubt she is aiming to have a career in country music. It's a role in a movie. I've heard the song and it is not bad. I wouldn't buy it. But it is a lot better than some of the songs that the 'younger blondes' have out.
I don't think Kid Rock belongs in country music.Let Gwyneth give it a try.
I promise to be as polite as possible. Paltrow has always been overated as an actress. She has long been out of the lead actress role for good reason and it isn't making babies. To be fair she is only fairly attractive, not a beauty. Her taste in clothes and baby names is weird and her body is one of those with no meat. She has no business taking up air time on the waves or cyber world when there are so many talented established and struggling talents trying to make it. Send her back to Beverly Hills.

i like the song. They pull it off for her. At the beginning of the song though….before all of the heavy mixing comes in, her voice sounds weak. I think she could have done a little bit better there especially since that's where everyone is going to focus on her since she isn't a professional. I know she can't belt it out in the beginning of the song since it's not appropriate there, but it just shows the weakness in her voice. They all did a good job overall though and good song. Who wrote that?
She has alot of talent,acting or singing,you have to give it up for her. wonder how many actress would have the guts to go for it like Gwyneth,not many i am sure.

I love it! The sound is fantastic! I can't wait to start hearing it over and over on the radio. And Vince singing harmony? It's a perfect blend.
Has anyone heart Paltrow sing before? That's a very southern voice for someone born and raised in Los Angeles. It's also a very strong voice for someone as soft spoken as Paltrow. Sounds a lot like Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland.
She also sang with Huey Lewis in the movie "Duets" quite a a few years ago. She has a nice voice and is a talented actress. Good for her!
Jennifer Nettles is AWESOME has sings like and angel!!!!! Paltrow is nothing she does not belong in music at all she is an actress not very good at that either!!Sorry but true!!
