Congratulations to Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, 25, who became engaged to boyfriend Chris Tyrell, 24, over the Fourth of July weekend.
People magazine reports that Chris popped the question as the sun was setting over a lake in east Tennessee. Hillary met her love, a drummer, while Lady A was on tour with Tim McGraw in early 2010.
“Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed,” Hillary told People. “Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and – in our workout clothes – he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!”
As a sweet side note, the band’s latest hit, “Just A Kiss,” was inspired by Hillary and Chris’ romance.
“There is so much excitement at the beginning of a new relationship,” Hillary told Billboard magazine. “This song is about one of those times when your brain kicks in and tells your heart, ‘Good things are worth waiting for.’”
There’s no wedding date yet but it’s likely to be awhile, since Lady A is headlining their summer tour and gearing up for the September 13 release of their new album, Own The Night, and Chris is currently working with Eden’s Edge on Brad Paisley’s H2O II Tour.
Congrats to the happy couple!
