Martina McBride will perform the National Anthem before the NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Kick-Off Game on October 2 between the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets. The game, as well as Martina’s performance, will be broadcast nationally on NBC at 8:30 PM/ET.
The game is the first of several NFL Breast Cancer Awareness games throughout October. NFL Breast Cancer Awareness games will feature game balls with pink ribbon decals, pink equipment worn by the players, pink coins for the coin toss, pink goal post padding and breast cancer awareness track jackets for cheerleaders.
Martina’s current single, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” is an anthem for breast cancer patients, survivors and their supporters. The song tells the tale of a woman being diagnosed with the disease and her husband’s promise to love her through it. The song will be on Martina’s new album, Eleven, set for release on October 11.
As part of the album’s launch, Martina will travel across the country on an Amtrak train, stopping in eleven cities along the way to meet fans and breast cancer survivors as well as perform at select stops. The train tour will begin in Los Angeles and roll to a stop in New York City.
