After the news that Joshua Scott Jones of Steel Magnolia had entered rehab to overcome alcohol and substance abuse issues, the question was raised as to whether or not the duo would still open for Reba on her All the Women I Am Tour. The show will go on as planned, with Meghan Linsey (who counts Reba as an early inspiration) taking the stage solo while Joshua gets healthy.
“I’ve been a Reba fan since I was just a kid,” Meghan said. “I remember taking all the money I had when I was 9 or 10 years old and buying a cassette tape with Reba on the front cover. I don’t think I knew any of her music at the time, I just thought her hair was cool. And I got it and that’s kind of what started me listening to and loving country music.”
Steel Magnolia is scheduled to open for Reba until the tour wraps on November 19 in Tupelo, Mississippi. While Meghan will be doing dates solo for the time being, she has hinted there could be some surprises to come.
