Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton tied the knot in May, but despite their superstar status, they lead a rather normal life as husband and wife. When their busy schedules allow them to return to their Oklahoma home at the same time, they won’t be found having a big night on the town.

“When we’re both home, we love just hanging out,” Miranda told Us Weekly. “Nothing too fancy; no big date nights. We cook meat out on our smoker, then we watch TV. I’ve really gotten into Law & Order: SVU, and he loves funny movies. One of our staples is Bad Santa. It’s wack, but so good! Also, deer season is coming up, so I’ll be back and we can go out hunting a lot. Hanging out together helps us stay friends, which is the most important thing.”

One of Blake’s trademarks is his sense of humor. Miranda tells Us Weekly it’s one of her favorite things about him. “It’s not a front that he puts on,” she said. “He is the happiest person you’ll ever meet. He literally waits to laugh and looks for reasons to smile. It rubs off on everyone around him.”

Now that they’re married, the question of when kids will come is asked a lot. With both of their careers on fire, the reigning CMA Female and Male Vocalist of the Year aren’t in any hurry to have kids. They have seven dogs, three horses and three mini-horses to take care of as it is.

“We have so much going on right now, and we’re both on top of the world,” Miranda said. “I just feel like I’d better not raise a baby on a tour bus! We need at least a couple of years until we think about having kids. I want to enjoy being married, just him-and me time, first.”

Miranda will release her highly anticipated new album, Four The Record, on November 1. To read the rest of the article, check out the current issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.
