GAC extends prayers and condolences to Shawna and Keifer Thompson, a.k.a. Thompson Square. Earlier today it was announced that the husband and wife duo had to bow out of performing at tonight’s New Faces Show at the Country Radio Seminar, due to the illness of Shawna’s father. Shawna’s dad passed away last night and the band’s publicist released this statement:
“It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Shawna Thompson’s father, George Michael “Mickey” Mcllwain, passed away yesterday evening in Alabama after a valiant battle with cancer. Shawna and her family were by his side when he passed. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. We ask that you please keep both Shawna and Keifer as well as Shawna’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”
