Martina McBride is gearing up to release “Marry Me,” a duet with Pat Monahan, as the follow up to her Top 5 single, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.” Written by Pat and recorded by his band Train, the track was a Top 40 hit and certified platinum. Martina was eager to have the song on her latest album, Eleven.

“It’s just Pat singing this beautiful song, so we sang it as duet, and when we’d finished rehearsing it, we both looked at each other and said ‘Wow, that really works! That’s really cool as a duet!’” Martina said. “So when I went in to make the album I asked if I could record that song and he would come and sing on it, and so he came to Atlanta where we were recording and we sang it in the same room.”

Martina has nothing but praise for Pat, both on their duet and on his other work. “He’s one of my very favorite singers in the world,” she said. “He’s so soulful and such a great singer, and so it was a magical day when we recorded that song.”
