Trace Adkins likes to fish and in a new DIY special, Ultimate Fishing Lodge, he’ll take his love of the outdoors to Deep Water Cay in the Bahamas. Located 112 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida, the private tropical island retreat has played host to the rich and famous since 1958. Ultimate Fishing Lodge premieres on DIY on Sunday, June 17 at 7/6 p.m. CT.

People come from all over the world to enjoy the mile long private beach, snorkeling and scub diving, kayaking and tennis. The island is known as a fisherman’s paradise with deep sea fishing for tuna, albacore and mahi-mahi. It’s the ultimate vacation spot and the ideal spot for Ultimate Fishing Lodge.

Trace will serve as host as construction crews battle the elements, each other and the challenges that come with building a hurricane proof world class fishing lodge in a tropical location. He’ll even pitch in to help with the build – when he’s not fishing! NBC’s Tom Brokaw, actor Liam Neeson and Michael Keaton will also appear during the special to talk about what makes Deep Water Cay special.
