Meet Kenny Chesney’s New Love

Kenny Chesney & Pancho

Kenny Chesney has a new best friend to take on tour! He became the proud owner of Pancho, a goldendoodle, in January, he told People. [Click on the photo above to see the full-size image.] He wasn’t looking for a dog when Pancho came along, though. “A friend gave it to me and said, ‘Here, Kenny, you have to learn to attach to something!’ God’s honest truth!” he said. “Now, I love the guy.”

It didn’t take Kenny long to realize the responsibility that comes along with being a pet owner. “Next thing you know, next day at PetSmart, I’m buying stuff, buying things and I have no idea!” he said. “That’s just a dog! I can’t imagine having three kids (like Tim McGraw).”

So far, Kenny and Pancho are getting along just fine. They’ve bonded over a mutual love of the ocean. “That little guy, he’ll eat everything in sight – whether it’s edible or not – and he loves the water,” Kenny said. “I took him down to my boat, and he jumps right off.”

Kenny just kicked off his Brothers of the Sun Tour with Tim McGraw and Pancho is along for the ride – at least for now. “The plan is to take him on tour,” Kenny told People. “We’ll see if he’s got what it takes.” See photos from the Brothers of the Sun Tour »

Kenny will release his new album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, on June 19. Watch his steamy “Come Over” video HERE – and see if you can spot Pancho making a cameo!
