The 2012 Teen Choice Awards will take place Sunday, July 22 and a number of country stars are up for the fan-voted awards. Taylor Swift is the most nominated country artist with a total of four nods while Blake Shelton follows with three nominations plus one for The Voice. Luke Bryan is up for Choice Male Country Artist and is flattered by the nomination since teens have a wide taste in music.

“As long as you’re popping and you’re hip and young, and you’re making them pay attention, I think that’s very flattering, because they’re listening to all kinds of music, he said. “When you’re able to grab a slot into their iPod and they nominate you, it’s pretty cool stuff. So, we love anytime we get the Teen Choice nominations, and yeah, we’re glad of it. And they’ll grow up 10 years from now, hopefully, still be fans.”

The Teen Choice Awards will air live on Fox on Sunday, July 22 at 8/7p.m. CT. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Ellen DeGeneres and Zac Efron are among the celebrities scheduled to appear during the show. Voting is open to fans ages 13-19 through July 21, 2012.
