Carrie Underwood Duets With Steven Tyler on New Aerosmith Album

Fans have heard rumors about a Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler duet for the new Aerosmith album and it turns out, the rumors are true! The Boot reports that Mike Mullaney, Music Director of Boston’s Mix 104.1 confirmed that Carrie appears with the rockers on their new project, Music From Another Dimension. The band is hopeful the duet will expand their fan base.

“The surprise track was a duet – and he recorded the duet with Carrie Underwood,” Mike said. “People should think back to the one that Bon Jovi did with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland (“Who Says You Can’t Go Home”) – that kind of vibe. Obviously he’s fresh off ‘Idol’ and he knows the power of Carrie Underwood. At first, the rest of the band didn’t want to put it on there but their label convinced them, ‘Guys, this will get you airplay in red states.’ So that was that.”

Fans might remember the first time Carrie and Steven Tyler performed together. The two brought the house down at the 2011 ACM Awards with a performance of “Undo It” and “Walk This Way.” And Carrie isn’t the only former American Idol contestant appearing on the band’s new album. Lauren Alaina revealed on Twitter earlier this year that she’d recorded for the project.

“Yesterday: returned to idol & then went to the studio to record background vocals for the new Aerosmith record. ISTHISREAL? Thank u Steven!” she wrote.

The project will be released November 6.
