Could Brad Paisley be filling one of the vacated judge roles on American Idol? Deadline.com via Tulsa World is reporting that Brad is being considered for the position. He would join the most recent addition to the judging panel, Mariah Carey, and Randy Jackson, who is currently deciding on his return to Idol.

“Bringing in a country star as an ‘Idol’ judge appears logical since the show’s most successful winner to date, Carrie Underwood, is a country singer as are a number of other well-known ‘Idol’ finalists, including last year’s winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina,” reported Deadline.com.

Brad has numerous ties to Idol already. He has performed on the TV show and has a solid friendship with Carrie Underwood with whom he has hosted the CMA Awards for the last several years as well as recorded the hit duet “Remind Me.” Scotty McCreery is currently a special guest on his Virtual Reality Tour.

Brad hasn’t commented on the speculation yet, but we think he’d be a great judge. What do you think? Let us know which country star you think would be a great addition to the American Idol judges!
