It’s not clear what happened when Chris Young and Jo Dee Messina crossed paths in Los Angeles recently, but whatever it was didn’t sit well with Jo Dee. She had some strong words about Chris to share with her twitter followers on Tuesday.

“OMG! Just saw @ChrisYoungMusic. He was ugly, arrogant and rude. Really country radio? This guy’s an ass,” she tweeted.

Within minutes, dozens of Chris’s fans jumped to his defense. While Chris didn’t address the incident directly, he tweeted a message to his fans later in the evening. “If I have said it once, I have said it 1,000 times. My fans are #badass,” he wrote.

David Nail also jumped to defend Chris.” @chrisyoungmusic is one of THE most down to earth artists I’ve met in 12 years in this town! #raisedright” he tweeted after he saw Jo Dee’s tweet.

It looks like things fizzled out as quickly as they started. Jo Dee has been tweeting about her family’s adventures in first L.A. and now Utah, with no further mentions of Chris.
