Dolly Parton Goes Gold

Dolly Parton’s two disc CD/DVD set, An Evening With… Dolly, available exclusively at Cracker Barrel, has been certified gold. It’s the first gold award for Cracker Barrel and the first for Dolly Records in the U.S. The project is a live album recorded during one of Dolly’s shows in London and was released April 2.

“In true Dolly fashion and always on the cutting edge, Dolly was the first to be Sound Scanned in Cracker Barrel’s exclusive music program, and now their first gold record,”  Dolly’s Manager/President of Dolly Records Danny Nozell said.

“I’m thrilled that so many fans are listening to my songs and taking a look behind the scenes of my European tour,” Dolly said. “I had a wonderful time performing in London and I think the audience did too. It’s exciting to be able to share my experiences with Cracker Barrel fans. And I have to tell you, I’m even more excited that An Evening With… Dolly earned the first ‘Gold’ in the Cracker Barrel exclusive music program.  That’s just icing on the cake.”

Having picked up so many awards and honors throughout her storied career, the question of where Dolly is going to put another plaque has to be asked. “I’m lucky that I have the Chasing Rainbows Museum up at Dollywood,” she said. “That’s gonna go in a special place because I’m very proud to be working with Cracker Barrel because they’re the best people in the world.”

Just because Dolly has everything from gold records to GRAMMY Awards to her name doesn’t make the gold certification any less special. “You never get tired of that,” she said. “It makes you feel like every project you do, if someone recognizes it, makes it that much more worthwhile. You never get too old or get too callous to enjoy the success and at my age, I’m thrilled to get anything in this business.”

An Evening With… Dolly is available for $11.99 exclusively at all Cracker Barrel locations and online at crackerbarrel.com.
