Tonight on GAC, Trace Adkins will step out of the spotlight in order to shine it on three very deserving heroes in Salina, Kansas. Great American Heroes follows Trace on his nationwide Songs & Stories Tour as he takes time away from the stage to honor everyday people doing extraordinary things in their local communities. Great American Heroes premieres tonight, August 22, at 8 p.m. ET.
The heroes Trace will meet both tonight in Salina and across the country are seemingly average community members and yet they are working to change lives, asking for no recognition in return. But that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve it. Trace is seeking these ‘ordinary’ people out to not only recognize their efforts but surprise them with something special.
Watch a sneak peek after the jump!
Heidi turned a mother’s worst nightmare into the Monkey in My Chair program after her daughter Chloe was diagnosed with brain cancer. The foundation sends a giant stuffed monkey stuffed to sit in the child’s seat at school when they aren’t able to be there due to chemo, radiation, or other doctor visits. Reverend Steve Kmetz spent the last 18 years working at The Rescue Mission, offering food, clothes, shelter and guidance to those in need.
Great American Heroes will be an emotional journey of laughter, tears and gratitude as Trace covers the country in search of those who desire to help others before themselves.
