Lady Antebellum’s Bond Is Closer Than Ever

It’s been quite a ride for Lady Antebellum since forming the band in 2006. The trio have gone through a lot of personal growth since then, including each getting married. They’ve experienced career highs, released three albums, and earned numerous awards. Despite the pressure that comes with stardom, their bond is stronger than ever.

“I look at ourselves as a band who’s so close right now,” Dave Haywood said. “When I look back at the first record and listen to the music and remember us recording those songs and writing those songs, we were still figuring each other out. And not to say we’ve figured each other out, but we know so much more about each other. We’re just so much more open to saying what we want to say.”

Dave can pinpoint one particular song that served to bring them closer. “‘Need You Now’ was a big step for us,” he said. “We were real hesitant about putting that line in there – ‘I’m a little drunk, and I need you now.’ And I think we just went for it, and I think from that moment on and then a lot of this record [Own the Night] was all written out of a point of us being closer than we’ve ever been before.”

With a bond as tight as the one Lady A has formed, they don’t have any reserves about getting a little silly backstage. Watch the latest edition of their Webisode Wednesday series to get a glimpse at some of their pre-show rituals that, while a little random, work every time!
