Little Big Town’s “Pontoon” has reached platinum status, selling more than one million copies. The track is the band’s fastest-selling single to date and has spent four weeks at No. 1 as a country digital download. Written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Laird and Barry Dean, “Pontoon” has been dubbed the “song of the summer.”

The band is preparing to release their fifth studio album, Tornado, on September 11. Fans can pre-order the album at, Amazon or iTunes. Little Big Town will make several television appearances in support of the new album including Good Morning America on September 10 and The Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 13.  They’ll also be featured on ABC’s ‘CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock’ special on September 17.

An album isn’t the only new project on Little Big Town’s horizon though. LBT’s Kimberly Schlapman’s new cooking show, Kimberly’s Simply Southern, premieres on GAC September 22 at 1 p.m. Eastern. In each episode, Kimberly leaves the band’s tour bus in search of the best local foods and ingredients. Then, back in her Nashville kitchen, she’ll incorporate her finds into her traditional family recipes with the help of several country star friends.
