What started off as a bet between Brad Paisley and WYCD-FM Detroit morning show producer and co-host Steve Gunwald five years ago led to Steve delivering a cow named Paisley to a African tribal chief in Kenya over the weekend. In 2007, Brad bet Steven he couldn’t travel to 10 countries in 10 days. Steve accepted the bet and took along a life-size cutout of Brad to document his journey.
Steve kept in touch with several people he met during his first trip to Africa. Recently, he received a request to provide the Masai tribe in Kenya with a cow — which would help support the entire village for a long time to come. Steve told Brad about the request during a recent interview and Brad offered to pay for the whole trip.
Steve again documented his journey through blog entries. The daily posts can be found on the radio station’s website. Brad helped spread the word about “The Brad Paisley Cow Project” by retweeting the entries as the station sent out updates via Twitter.
