Taylor Swift kicked off a week of national television and radio appearances to support her new album, Red, on October 22, the same day the project hit stores. Her first stop was Good Morning America, two days in a row. She expressed her excitement about performing on the morning show before hitting the stage.
“I’m really excited about performing in Times Square for Good Morning America ‘cause it’s such a big deal,” Taylor said. “They do things so well. They have all the fans there. They make it such a big event and it’s gonna be exciting having a big event kicking off this album release cause, you know, I’ve been making this album for two years and I really, really wanted it to be a big deal.”
Two straight appearances on Good Morning America also means two really early mornings. Despite the early hour, her fans that wake up just as early make it worthwhile. And serve as the morning’s dose of caffeine.
“The energy in Times Square when you’re performing live, even if it’s in the morning at the crack of dawn, the fans are all there and they’re all so stoked,” Taylor said. “They bring signs and they dress up and they know the words, and I’m just so thrilled that we get to be a part of something like that.”
