CMA Awards

46th Annual CMA Awards

A few nominees won’t have to wait until Thursday night’s CMA Awards to find out who takes home the trophy. For the first time, the winners for Musical Event and Music Video of the Year will be announced live from Nashville during Good Morning America on Thursday, November 1. The morning show will broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena Plaza.

“Each year we announce our final nominees on Good Morning America and now we have the opportunity to announce two of our winners,” Steve Moore, Chief Executive Officer of CMA, said “GMA is a terrific supporter of the CMA Awards and country music. I can’t think of a better way to jump start the day as we lead up to The 46th Annual CMA Awards broadcast on ABC.”

The special edition of Good Morning America will also feature a performance from Reba McEntire and an appearance by Brad Paisley. Fans are encouraged to attend the broadcast.

“These two categories are normally presented during pre-televised activities and acknowledged during the Awards broadcast, which we will still do,” Steve said. “But being able to share the announcement of the winners live with the broader GMA viewership and the live audience in Nashville adds a whole new level of excitement for our fans and the recipients.”

Winners of CMA Musical Event and CMA Music Video of the Year will be presented their trophies before the start of the CMA Awards. The presentation will be hosted by Love and Theft and taped to air during the CMA Awards broadcast along with presentation of the Musician of the Year Award and the CMA Broadcast Awards recognizing Radio Station and Personality of the Year winners.

The 46th Annual CMA Awards will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and will air live from Nashville on ABC on November 1 at 8p|7c. Scheduled performers include Brad, Carrie, Vince Gill, Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban, Eli Young Band, Brantley Gilbert, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift and Little Big Town.
