Scotty McCreery’s Favorite Christmas Song Didn’t Make The Cut

Scotty McCreery got into the Christmas spirit a little early this year by releasing his Christmas album, Christmas With Scotty McCreery, in October. The album is full of his favorite holiday songs — but his all-time favorite didn’t make the cut.

“My favorite Christmas song comes from my favorite Christmas album, and that’s Elvis’ Christmas album,” Scotty said. “I was an Elvis fanatic growing up. It was ‘Blue Christmas.’ When I was making my album, I knew I was going to put at least one Elvis song on there, so it came down to just deciding that nobody was going to sing ‘Blue Christmas’ like Elvis Presley, so we did ‘Santa Claus is Back in Town.’ But ‘Blue Christmas’ is definitely my favorite.”

Fans can catch Scotty along with his friends Gloriana, Jana Kramer and Brett Eldredge Tuesday, December 4 at 9p|8c in Christmas with Scotty McCreery & Friends, an hour-long special taped exclusively for GAC in a recording studio on Music Row. They all perform their favorite holiday tunes and participate in holiday wrapping party for the Angel Tree Project. See photos from the taping >>
