With 2013 arriving in just a matter of days, everybody is starting to think about those pesky resolutions that seem to haunt us soon after wrapping up the Christmas festivities. Some hope to lose weight while others vow to spend more time with friends and family, enjoying the simple things in life.
Country stars are no different. We recently chatted with some of your favorite stars to find out exactly what’s on their list of resolutions as we welcome 2013 with open arms!
Colt Ford: To lose weight … I swear I mean it this year [laughs]!
Love And Theft:
Stephen Barker Liles: I want to spend more time with my mom and my little brother. I don’t get to spend enough time with them. I think that’s the biggest thing. I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately.
Eric Gunderson: To have as much fun next year as I did this year.
Justin Moore: I usually don’t make resolutions because I usually break them. Anything that I figure I’m going to fail at, I don’t generally do. I’m too prideful. The only thing that I do knowing that I suck at it is golf.
The Bellamy Brothers:
David Bellamy: I think our resolution is to just keep on keeping on. I see people make resolutions, but really if you can just keep on… We still enjoy what we do. I think it’s important to us to keep it up, and sometimes that’s not always easy.
Howard Bellamy: As long as you, your family and your friends are all healthy and happy, that’s really all you can ask for.
Hunter Hayes: I think I’m going to try to get more sleep [laughs]! Eat healthy and get more sleep, because I’m still in that crazy all day/all night making music mode!
Joanna Smith: To live the Love chapter from Corinthians a little better and live at a slower pace!
Josh Kelley: To stop trying to write hits and just create music that I love.
Chris Lucas: Just like everyone, one of mine is to continue working out and staying in shape. I’d also like to get more songs cut by other artists and have a No. 1 song by us!
Preston Brust: To keep growing as a songwriter, to raise more money than we’ve ever raised for St. Jude, spend a little more time with my mom and dad, to celebrate the release of our debut album, and to take one of our singles straight up the charts.
Florida Georgia Line:
Tyler Hubbard: I’ve never been a big resolutions guy. I don’t think I’m going to do any New Year’s resolutions. For me, it doesn’t normally stick.
Brian Kelley: I’m pretty happy where I’m at in my life. Personally I think I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and I feel good about myself. I’m looking forward to a good 2013.
Tom Gossin: To drink more and work less!
Wade Hayes: Always to be a better man.
Josh Turner: I don’t do resolutions [laughs]. I do resolutions regardless of what day it is. I don’t save them for New Year’s. We normally just try to spend time around the house on New Year’s. I try not to do any shows on holidays. It can be such a busy time, so it’s much easier and fun to just stay at home [laughs].
