Florida Georgia Line’s debut single “Cruise” not only topped the charts, it turned the heads of a number of fellow country artists. Before the song hit No. 1, they received tweets from the likes of Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Jennifer Nettles about how much they loved the song. The duo felt welcomed into the genre with open arms.

“It’s pretty surreal,” Brian Kelley said. “It’s definitely humbling. That’s just a testament to how amazing country music is, the camaraderie, the support that our peers have shown us and kinda welcomed us into the family.”

Seeing tweets from country music’s biggest stars was a validation of sorts for the pair. “It’s kinda one of those moments where, I guess we are doing something kinda right, you know,” Brian said. “They are so respected. We love all those people so I mean, it means we’re doing something right. Pretty cool.”

Keith Urban even named the song as one of his favorite songs of 2012. The  pair just released their follow up single, “Get Your Shine On,” to radio.
