Ray Price has accepted Blake Shelton’s apology following comments Blake made during GAC’s updated Backstory: Blake Shelton. In the special, Blake discussed his 2010 CMA award for Male Vocalist of the Year and what it meant to him as country music continues to evolve. Read his comments here >>

“Hi Folks, I had no idea how far this would go when I made my comment about BLAKE SHELTON’S statement regarding CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC and that it had no place in the evolution of Country Music,” Ray wrote on his Facebook page. “It has made it’s [sic] way to the site of the 2013 GRAMMY AWARDS TV SHOW. I am giving you the link to read yourself.

“I HAVE ACCEPTED BLAKE SHELTON’S APOLOGY TO ME PERSONALLY. I think Blake is a fine young man with a big future in Country Music. I AGREE that he should be given a chance to restore his credibility with the MILLIONS OF FANS who were deeply offended by those HURTFUL WORDS AND RENAMING US ALL AS…..well, you know what he said. I would regret it if the words I have spoken would in any way harm Blake personally or his career and his chances for the future. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, BLAKE. Thanks All. RAY PRICE.”

Blake once more took to Twitter to respond to Ray’s apology.” Still sad that Ray thought I was talking about artists,” he wrote. “I was only referring to people who don’t like the new direction country is going.. I’m so proud of where country music is today… I’ll always stand up for it. It’s my world. My love for Ray Price goes back to the first time I ever performed “Heartaches By The Number” at Ken Lance Sports arena in Ada Ok. Wasn’t and still aren’t a good enough vocalist to perform “For The Good Times”… Ha! Ha! #truth

Miranda Lambert stood by her man, posting her support for him on her own Twitter page. “My husband has taught me so much about country music. He studies it. He loves it. It’s his life’s work. @blakeshelton we all have your back!” she wrote.

Fellow country stars also supported Blake on Twitter. “I just want to say how much I Love and respect and appreciate our brother @blakeshelton … that is all! Good Night Friends…” wrote Oak Ridge Boys member Joe Bonsall.

“Love what you meant by your quote buddy,” Chris Young wrote. “Know how much you love country music history. Love your music brother and who you are.”

Martina McBride also voiced her support. “We all know where your heart is Blake,” she said. “Love you.”
