Big & Rich received the CRS 2013 Artist Humanitarian Award at Country Radio Seminar last week in Nashville. The award is given to country artists who have ‘exhibited exceptional humanitarian efforts during their career.’ The duo’s charitable efforts date back more than a decade and include visiting individual patients in hospitals, benefit concerts and well-documented U.S. and international outreach.
“The only way to do this is by having a great career,” John Rich said. “Thanks to everyone in this room for that.”
“I am blessed and I am humbled,” Big Kenny Alphin added. “I am thankful that I have been able to help in some small ways. Every little act of kindness everyone does, makes our world another step closer to a brighter tomorrow we’re thankful to our great creator and all that are here today.”
Past recipients of the annual award include Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Reba, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels among others.
