Darius Rucker has been shooting his latest video for his new single, “Wagon Wheel,” in Nashville this week. Fans can expect to see a slew of special guests, including Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum and Jase, Korie, Sadie, Si and Willie Robertson from A&E’s Duck Dynasty.
“My wife came up with the idea to have the Duck Dynasty guys in the “Wagon Wheel” music video, and I thought we had no chance because they’re so busy so I never even said it out loud,” Darius said. “Thank God she called my manager because the DD folks took this video to a whole new level! Big thanks to them and Charles. It was a good time for sure, and I can’t wait to see how the video turns out!”
“People said, ‘Now why are you doing this?’ I said, ‘Well, ‘cause he asked me,’” Jase Robertson said. “He’s been supportive of our show, and I appreciate that and just thought this could be fun. Plus, if you let Si be your guide, the road could get a little bumpy. I know from personal experience, so I’m here to provide a little security, and I may do a little singing in the backup.”
“Wagon Wheel” was originally sketched by Bob Dylan and completed years later by Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show. The song is the lead single is from Darius’ upcoming third solo country album, True Believers, which will be released this Spring.
